Preparing to Shoot
Hi, I’m Barry Casson and today I would like to show you a simple method for camera set up that when followed will improve your shooting right away.”
I want you to remember this phrase. We pronounce it simply as "LFAST.”
Here’s why it’s important. Most amateur camera people never take the time to properly set up. The camera and tripod so that they are in a position to get the shots they need. They see some great shot that might only last for a few seconds. They start to shoot and then find out that the camera isn’t level and they want to do a pan of the scene. So now they are quickly trying to handle technical stuff and they miss the shot.
Remembering this phrase will eliminate that problem:
LFAST stands for:
L – “Level the camera”
F – “Focus the camera”
A- “Set your aperture”
S – “Set the shutter”
T - "Set the time code"
